View Full Version : How often do you shave your legs?

Kitty
04-13-2005, 05:12 PM
I feel like this is kind of gross, but I rarely shave my legs and I wear skirts ALL THE TIME. My hair is blonde on my legs, and you can't really see it even when its totally grown out unless you look closely - I sometimes get self-conscious though. The thing is, I am really just lazy and hate taking the extra 5 minutes in the shower each morning. does everyone else shave daily?

I shave daily--usually just the bottom part though. I hate when it's all prickly.

I shave daily when it's this kind of weather, because I'm wearing a lot of skirts and my legs are bare. In the winter, it's only on the weekends.

During the winter months I do not shave my legs at all, unless I know Kirk will be around :green: During the summer I shave every week.

As for under arms I shave every 3-4 days.

Yeah, I think I'm about once a week too...but it could be longer.

I don't have hair under my arms - its really weird. I also have NO hair on my arms. NONE. I'm like an alien.

I wish I didn't have hair under my arms! It grows so fast I have to shave daily, and then it just gets irritated.

Since i have no SO I don't have to worry about it, but I usually do it on the weekends minimum, but I will do it more often if I am wearing a skirt

My sis in law is all natural. she doesn't shave hers at all and her hair is not blonde.

I also have blonde hair, so it doesn't matter as much...I can get away with doing it every other day at most in bare legs season. But usually, not more than once a week. It seriously doesn't show. Of course, if there's a chance of somebody touching them, I'm shaving. ;)

Funny--I'm debating whether or not to go get my legs waxed--it's been a month since I've shaved, so it's pretty much ready. Usually I only do it on weekends. But with Chris laid up...

I have to do my underarms daily or every other day. It grows fast. And I have darker hair.

I could go longer, too, my hair is really fine so it's not very noticeable.

My mom only has hair on her knees. That's it. It's really wierd.

Sorry Kitty but even if you have blonde hair- those blonde hair REALLY stand out in the sun so yes take those 5 minutes and shave urself.

I wax my legs every 2-3 weeks. Usually I shave in the winter on the as-needed basis but come summer I wax everything- stomach, back, chest, legs, arms.

Ok I'm the worst of all, I usually go at least 2 weeks without shaving (maybe less over the summer) because I wear pants all year. And the reason I'm the worst is because I LIVE with my SO lol. He doesn't care too much. Plus (since I have libido issues) it keeps him sorta away when I start wearing shorts to bed.

Once a month, maybe twice a month in the summer. My hair is light, but not blond. It is very thin and spaced out and I have a few bare patches. I'm just not that hairy. I remember the first time a guy rubbed my legs when they hadn't been just shaved I was really worried, but he never said anything. My mom lost all of her leg hair when she was in her mid thirties. I hope I will as well.

You know, you're right. I better have the entire leg waxed. I was just gonna have half leg waxing done. The upper leg doesn't have much hair and it's BLONDE there. WTF? Why is my upper leg blonde and my lower leg dark???

I should write them about it...and try and get a bunch free samples to "advertise" further. "No, no, I don't want to sell your other sex toys/products, only the Coochy. Thanks." And then I can have a nice supply of my own (and anyone who wants to be sent one can get one for free from me!) It sucks to pay shipping for a little bottle.

i go awhile without shaving. currently i shave right before i see deadend. so once a month. honestly, i don't care that much to make it a priority. i don't shave much at all in the winters & when i was in sf, it was so cool in the summer that i didn't shave much then either. i shave under arms when i am going to wear something sleeveless. i really don't worry about it much & i have dark hair.

I only shave in winter when it reaches the point that I just can't stand it anymore. In the summer I shave every couple of days, though, because we have a pool and spend every moment not at work either lying around it or in it. Smooth legs feel better in the water.

during winter i shave my armpits everyday (it grows so fast) and in the summer as well. with my legs i shave them every other day both summer and winter. i normally wear skirts and boots with no panty hose in the winter, so i dont wanna be all hairy. and i also shave my bikini area every other day (the day i dont shave my legs!)

i am pretty hairless i guess you could say!

...but I'm one of those naturally hairless people. The hair on my legs is so fine that I can go a month without shaving and get this...I never grew underarm hair. People are shocked when I say that, but I don't have more than maybe 4 strands under there. It never grew in.

On the downside, I have very thin hair and eyebrows which is probably heriditary and I've probaby have no hair by the time I'm 60. I envy people with thick hair and full brows.

Pleh! having thick hair sucks. First, I have to shave all the time. I get a five o clock shadow on my freakin' legs. Grrr. Second, thick straight hair does nothing! Nothing. I mean no curl, no updos, nothing. It sucks. Third, full brows really suck too. Until I got my husband to do the plucking for me (heh, isn't he wonderful?) I totally let them go wild. My turn!

Since I'm without a man, I can go like 3 weeks without shaving. I have pretty fine hair and even though it's dark, you barely notice it (yay for being tan). Now that it's getting nicer out I shave once, maybe twice a week.
...but I'm one of those naturally hairless people. The hair on my legs is so fine that I can go a month without shaving and get this...I never grew underarm hair. Damn, girl. First no periods, now no hair? I'm so jealous!
Asian people have to shave all the time, our hair is super-noticable Ha! Not me! Actually Asian people can get away with never having to shave. My parents yelled at me when I was younger when they found out I shaved. Apparently I started a cycle of always having to shave!

Since I swam in HS, I was neurotic about shaving b/c of all the myths about the drag your body hair could create. I shaved all the shave-able parts every day. I even knew this one guy who made States who shaved his whole body. He made a party out of it; I helped.

You know what's funny?
There have been a few times when I forgot to shave, yet still went out with Kirk. He would try to rub my legs and I'd freak out saying "Don't Touch, I'm hairy!!" He'd always lift up his pant leg and say, "No, I'm hairy, your legs look nothing like mine"

I shave more often in the summer because I might want to wear shorts, but I don't shave nearly as much as I probably should. I don't have light hair, so it's very easy to see, but I don't care enough to shave every day. Maybe once a week? Except for my underarms. They are shaved every other day.

I do shave if I have a date. Because you never know. :huge:

there have been a few times that i hadn't shaved my legs or bikini area in a really long time (we are talking about a few months & the better part of a year) & happened to hook up with guys. didn't stop them at all.

i guess for some people wearing old, unattractive underwear or not shaving could be their method of keeping their pants on a first or second date, but i don't play like that.

Yeah, I've never had a guy turn down a hook up with me because I wasn't 'prepared'. But I like having the routine of shaving and all that when I am getting ready to go out and have fun. It gives me more confidence and makes me feel more girly. I did it when I was single and I still do it when I'm having a date night with my boyfriend.

For me? YES! I just say NO to unibrows. ;) Otherwise I'd spend an hour plucking. And I'd rather have one solid pain really quickly rather than a hundred little pains! I don't pluck at all now-I get it waxed, and then let it ALL grow back in and then wax again. I think I go a month and a half before it all grows back.

The in-between stage is horrible w/ eyebrows. But what I've done is cut the hairs as they grow back in so it's not that noticeable and there's something for the wax to grab onto.

I know threading is available out here, but it's not as popular as waxing so most places don't offer it. Plus threading hurts too! I think I'm used to the pain of waxing my brows - I think it's become numb.

They use like 2 threads that kind cross over your hair, pulling it out. Something like that.

Is it sugar or cold wax? Also do they apply any type of lotion or gel afterwards? I know those help, and I love the cooling feeling I get when the esthetician applies it. Also once I had this weird buzzy machine thing that they rubbed over the waxed areas and that was supposed to help with the redness.

You should look into it! I don't think I've ever been to a place that did provide some type of lotion. One place even put a little baby powder down before applying the wax and I think that helped with the pain too.

As for how often, well, maybe once a month in cold weather (hey, I don't have a boyfriend, why bother) and as much as is needed when it's skirt/short weather.
