Does anybody have any healthy dessert ideas?

My Mom used to make us kool-aid popsicles, which I am guessing could be sugar-free if you wanted to cut back on the amount of sugar you ate.

Sugar free pudding, made with skim milk, and drop a few chocolate chips in it while its hot, or use cool whip lite.
Cool whip also makes sugar free jello taste pretty good.
Angel food cake is fat free. I like to squeeze a little chocolate syrup in the batter and mix in it so it becomes chocolate angel food cake. I'm a chocoholic, I admit it.
Also good is "crustless" pie. Most of the fat and calories in pie comes from the crust. Spray a pie pan with Pam, put in some fruit and a little bit of flour (strawberry peach is delicious) and splenda, and crumble a LITTLE brown sugar, splenda, margarine, and flour over the top like strussel and bake. It's delicous and mostly fruit.
....drool......

my mom's been on this low-carb/low-sugar kick for awhile now...so she's been trying things out. this one is from south beach. you put one of those sugar-free fudge bars in a bowl and soften it a bit in the microwave for a couple of seconds. then mix in 1-2 T of peanut butter and 1-2 T of fat-free cool whip. it's really yum. i guess it's probably better not to go overboard on the peanut butter though.

frozen sliced up bananas are good too...they take longer to eat, so you kinda feel like you ate more.

Are there any suggestions for non sugar alternative stuff that's healthy? I can't have anything with aspartame, it makes me sick. And I don't generally trust the other sugar alternatives anyways heh.

I put a cup of frozen raspberries in a blender set on pulse for a few seconds. It comes out like a sorbet. IF you blend it on too long-just throw it back in the freezer for about 10 minutes, and it'll harden up.

ooo that sounds good, raspberries are my favorite!

I need some good smoothie recipes! I have a blender that's called a "smoothie maker" because it has a little spout on the front so that you don't have to pour it heh. Might as well get some use out of it!

I thought about getting that Smoothie Maker Blender. Currently I have a mini-Cuisinart that does NOT do the best Smoothies.

I got mine as christmas present from my uncle and aunt. I'll let you know how it works when I finally get around to using it lol :)

Peaches & Cream

slice up a fresh peach, drizzle a little cream over it, sprinkle on a pinch of sugar.

yes, the cream has fat in it. but your seriously using like a spoonful of it.

I drizzle light choc. syrup over strawberries and bananas. Maybe add some lite whipped cream and/or walnuts... I try to keep my diet low-fat, rather than low-sugar, because it has a better long-term effect. But I LOVE my chocolate!!

They have this no-fat brownie mix at trader joe's and you just add non-fat yogurt to it. They brownies come out AMAZING. You can also add fat-free cool whip to them.

I also like Trader Joe's sorbet. They have raspberry, passion fruit, lemon, etc.

There are also some frozen desserts I think called "smart choice" or something (maybe they are weight watchers brand? I can't remember now) but they are SO GOOD!! They have this peanut butter brownie thing that is amazing.

I'm also really big on sugar-free fudge pops.

I have a Smoothie Jr. and it works really well. It even comes with this mixer so you can move the frozen stuff around while it blends. The only thing that stinks is you have to remember to clean the spout (my roommates aren't good at doing that).

I love how it's getting warmer out so I can make smoothies, mmmm
