Why does every food contain a ton of sodium now? I am supposed to cut back on the amount of sodium I eat, but it is everywhere, and in high quantities.

Water is about the only thing with 0 sodium (natural fruits and vegetables don't have any either I think). Is there any other food that has low or no sodium?

I think one reason food has so much sodium is because it preserves stuff. I have also noticed processed foods have a lot more sodium.

Yeah, most presevatives are something sodium something. One of the only ways to cut back noticeably is to seriously concentrate on eating fresh foods more than you eat processed foods.

I don't really worry about sodium, but I probably should.

Check out this website:
http://www.allorganic.net/encyclopedia.html

It lists fruits and veggies, and lets you know if they are naturally high in sodium(as well as other nutrients).

I have recently started to consciously cutting my salt (sodium) intake to 100% of the recommended daily allowance. It is darn difficult and now I keep craving salty foods :(

I am keeping it around the 100% mark as well. And I am only drinking water.

My blood pressure in Feburary was 150/85, now two months after I have reduced the sodium loaded foods it is down to 130/77. And I am a very healthy person, except for my mental state.
