Heh. My childhood best friend did this.

She lives about a mile from me, works IN THE OFFICE BELOW MY APARTMENT, and has not been bothered to spend more than about three hours' time with me since whe hooked up with her current boyfriend in September. We literally have gotten together on Halloween, on her birthday, and one other random time since early September. But, wow, I'm really touched that it's important to her to keep in touch via the internet. Loser.

Heh, last night I got an graduation invitation from a friend I haven't spoken to in about 8 months.

I really feel this person is doing this just to get a gift. I'm seriously thinking of sending dollar store stationary with a note saying "How about Keeping in Touch"

LOL paige, you totally should do that.

Jessie--EXACTLY. I saw her probably a month ago (but before that I hadn't seen her since before Xmas). She lives 2 towns from me, and her g-ma lives in my town. I'm like whatever.

So I deleted the email, haha.

That's ok, last July my ex-best friend sends me an email invite to her b-day party. Keep in mind I haven't spoken to her since October 2003. Jen, tell her to take flying leap!

Guess who IMed me tonight (Saturday) at 11:30 PM??? I'm glad I'm so important that you can find the time to chat with me then. She asked what's been going on and I mentioned that Chris was FINALLY home. She's like THAT'S GREAT!!! I then said, Yeah he was pretty sick. No comment about that--great to see that people care so much. I didn't really ask about her or what was up with her or how anyone in her life was. WTF people???

this reminds me of "facebook," (http://www.thefacebook.com) which is a basically a way for people to show off how many people they know. i had people from high school that i hadn't talked to in years (and these people didn't really talk to me THEN, either) and they wanted to "add me as a friend." i was like, "yeah, right." but then, cynically speaking, if they wanted to use me, i'm not above using them back. so i added 'em. now i'm just as "cool" as they are!! wheee!! ugh.

hehe yea, I've had people that I haven't talked to or seen since hs graduation trying to add me as friends, too. And they were people who I didn't think would remember me since we only had classes together but weren't really friends. (I added them too, hehe).

Dude, I get 16 year olds trying to add me as friends! Also 40 year olds. Who knows why 40 year olds are on myspace.

I got some weird 40 yr old woman who said she's a ZTA alum (my sorority) and I looked at her profile and it's full of all the sorta skanky pictures of herself! ICK No thanks heh.

I get the wackos and 16 yr olds on myspace all the time trying to add me. Apparently i'm a magnet for the drugged out metal heads who have internet access. who knew? :googly:

Jen- her idea of keeping in touch and yours are obviously VASTLY different.... but hey at least she knows what myspace even IS... my friends i'm sure haven't a clue.

Ok SPEAKING of this...

I met this friend freshman year in college, our dorms were connected to each other and we were pretty good friends for awhile, even roomed together sophomore year. Well we had a bad falling out at the end of the year, like REALLY bad. She was just the type of person who was negative a lot of the time, and that got to me. And I think she was sorta jealous of a lot of things that I had, especially when i got back together with my now bf. There were a lot of times when my bf would come to visit me then that I had to go do something with my sorority for a few hrs. So she would hang out with him, and they got along ok.

One of these times though, my bf told me how they were talking about my going out to parties and she ACTUALLY told him how one time I came home smelling like "alcohol, SEX and drugs" That was the last straw!!! We had this HUGE fight because she decided that my bf couldn't come spend the night in the dorms anymore specifically because we would put up a latch for whenever we'd have sex so that we didn't have to worry about being walked in on (and this was for her sake too!) So the fight escalated and I completely called her out on the sex comment to my bf, because it was basically trying to get him to think I cheated (in my eyes at least!) and the friendship basically ended right there. She moved her stuff out the next day and spent the rest of the year commuting from her house a half hr away.

So guess what I come to find, TODAY, 3 years later, in my myspace e-mail? It's a message that's titled "apology" I haven't opened it yet. Sorta nervous to. I guess its a good thing that its there, but what if she wants to be friends again, do I really want that? I don't know. Who would have thought it would be hard to open an email?

So that's my story of the day..we'll see how long it takes for me to open the email...

I received a MySpace invitation thing from some woman that I'd never heard of. I hope this isn't someone I should be aware of...
