Here's my debate -

2 more years of university (Hon. B.A., English & Political Science)... should I...
A) Teach in Japan for a year and then return to do my Masters in Journalism
B) Go straight into my Masters, and then go teach in Japan to gain some wordly experience; have money in the bank afterwards to start searching for a job
C) Go to Japan, return and do a post-grad certificate in PR, and then do a MA in Journalism if I get bored
D) Scrap the whole idea and marry rich. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm just wondering what some of you out there in the working world think; what potential employers think in terms of what degree requirements. Is it good to have a MA when going into your first job, or does it make you over-educated/qualified. Does it really matter the order in which you study?

Definitely either A or C. Employers are looking for people who show that in addition to having experience, they are eager to learn.

Speaking of teaching in Japan... My husband to be is planning on being a teacher in Japan in 2 years- but I already have a full time job that I love. Should I go with him? We may or may not be married by then. I don't think I would lose my job (I work in a really great environment) but I know it would hurt my career.

And as for advice... wait before making a decision. Usually the right one chooses you- not the other way around. One answer will eventually present itself as the best one. I reccomend waiting.
