The average person makes $868 a year? Somehow I have trouble believing that.

It is worldwide. I'm not sure if they counted kids, stay-at-home moms and elderly people in their numbers. Plus in third world countries, they may only make $100/month. There are still tribes of people who survive off the land and don't make any money.

I don't believe those statistics. There is no way I am in the top 1%.

I'm not sure how accurate those are... but I guess when you realize that the US is only like the fourth or fifth most populated country but by far the richest, it might be popular that almost all of us are in the 1% globally.
