Do you all find yourself going to routine places? For example, I only go to one Dunkin'Donuts in the morning because I find that other chains of them suck. My boyfriend is like "all of them are the same" but I think not. For ie., yesterday I tried out the new one with a drive thru that just opened by my job. I asked for an Iced Coffee and they gave me a coffee where all the ice was already melted. I asked for a plain bagel, not toasted with chive cream cheese. They gave me a wheat bagel that was sadly smooshed and toasted. Plus they charged like 75 cents more there. I think I will just stick to my routine places for now where the people know me.

I do, because I live in a really small town and there are only a handful of restaurants. :) My boyfriend and I have our favorite restaurants in Pgh., too.

All of the Dunkin Donuts are NOT the same, winney. My friends own a few, and those are the only ones I'll go to. The coffee is better, the bagels are better, yada... They're franchised, but the formulas are not as rigid as with McD's or other franchises... So, there is definitely a difference.

I definitely have routine places. I try to switch up the times I go there to interact w/ different people occasionally, but I definitely have places that I prefer to go to.

I totally go to the same place for coffee every morning, and I am in midtown so the options are endless. I like having little routines though :)

I don't go there everyday, but lately I've been going to Subway in my area to get a sandwhich to go. I'm obsessed with their sandwhiches, absolutely love & devour them! & at times I go to Trader Joe's as well to get more Airborne tablets & their chips & cookies.

I always go to the same places. I like it when ppl know exactly what I want, and who I am. It makes me feel special!!

My sister always says that too about DD's... the one closer to where she works she claims is the best. They alternate what they carry and their prices, so why not how the coffee is too? I find most places I go fall into a routine, whether it's what bank, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. I'll mix it up every once in awhile, but not too much.

i refuse to go to any Sun Fresh, and will only shop at Hy-vee for groceries becuase they have all teh stuff I need. I try to only go to one target becuase they're better (better sales) and there's only two coffee places in general in the whole city that I like.

But as for restuarants, I'll go anywhere. New food makes me happy inside.

I definitely go to the same places over and over. Usually either Dunkin' Donuts or Einstein Bagels for breakfast. It's just easier when you know ahead of time exactly what you want to order and if the people that work there are relatively nice or not. It's nice when they recognize you too, and ask you how you are doing. When you are in a new city and don't know anybody, sometimes that will be the only real conversation you have all day.

Definitely! I go to Starbucks a lot to hang out and I could tell you of the 10 closest Starbucks which ones have the best chairs and scenery outside. Also, indoor arrangement is crucial. There need to be comfy chairs and a seating arrangement so I don't feel like the baristas are staring at me. One particular Starbucks around here has 2 floors and newspapers are always available...probably the best indoor arrangement in the area, but on sunny days, it is lacking on the outside.

haha, just goes to show how important such little details are to me.

When I work in San Francisco there were about 5 different places I would rotate around for breakfast stuff. I did the same thing w/ lunch. I probably would have been a little more diverse - but those places had healthy options. Most of the food in downtown SF is super good, but very unhealthy.

Now, I bring my breakfast and my lunch to work. Yay! I know I am healthier and I'm saving money.

Tim Horton's sounds like a bar, you go there every morning? LOL!

Seriously what is it though? Never heard of it.

LOLOLOL Yeah, it does sound like some kind of cowboy bar, doesn't it? It's actually a coffee shop, much like Dunkin Donuts I think. It's a mainstay of modern Canadian culture, and part of , oh I'd say 75% of the country's daily routine. It is highly addictive ( I think it's the cream...) and has it's own language: "y'on your way to Timmie's?" "For sure, I'm on my 4th double- double of the day already"
Tim Horton was a hockey player (of course)

Tim Horton's rules. I went there 2 days in a row last October, in Niagara Falls, NY. I wish they had those throughout the rest of the US. It's like Dunkin Donuts but a much nicer atmosphere. They actually give you a real mug if you don't want to take your coffee to go.

I pretty much do, but since I started working somewhere in a new area (to me), I've been switching it up a little. It's kinda weird, lol. I go to Target and Barnes and Noble almost every weekend. Pretty sad.

I never really thought about this. Back at school I would only order takeout from one Chinese place because nobody else compared. Now that I moved 20+ miles away, I think it'd be a little far for them to deliver:p

Where I'm at now I haven't really found a place to make routine. I would bother since I'm looking to move in a few months.

I keep finding myself drawn back to Kinokuniya, which is this Japanese bookstore in the city. It's OK, a nice place to spend an afternoon. I'm getting sick of leafing through the same books every weekend though. I've been meaning to find a 'hangout' for myself that's not on campus or at home, but it hasn't really worked. everywhere sucks when you're just moping there on your own.

I definitely have my routine places...where I get my coffee, where I go often for lunch, place where I can grab an afternoon snack & caffeine fix, etc. It's good to mix it up once in a while and I find that refreshing...but I always end up back at the tried and true...

My agency runs a cafe where some of their clients work. They also sell artwork there and do catering. It is across the street from my job and offers employees of my agency a 20% discount. I eat here mostly every day for lunch. I kinda feel like if I am going to spend my money, at least put it back into where I work so it supports the agency and the clients in a sense. Besides, everyplace else to eat near my job is fast food and fried since I don't work in one of the more nicer, exclusive neighborhoods of the city. I am sure if I did though they would be charging ten bucks for a bagel and coffee in the morning anyways. I am exagerating a bit, but most of Manhattan it seems to be this way price-wise.
