As much as this post amused me, I'm curious as to why we're getting more spammer recently.

We're not, we've gotten heavy spam consistently for about three years. It's just that most of the time, we completely physically remove the threads, not just delete the content. Tons of spam gets deep sixed that you likely never see. But every once in a while, I'll delete the content and leave the posting, typically if the poster is still online.
