Ok get this:

So, as many of you know, I had a major trauma back last fall which led to a very messy break up, me dropping out of school for the term, going to Scotland to live for a few months, during which time I found this website.

Soooo.......

Due to that incident, I had to make up that school in the winter. Due to that changed schedule I had to put off taking a course I would have taken in the fall until now. Due to taking it out of term I had a schedule conflict meaning I had to get signed authorization from the Proffessor teaching the *equivalent in another department* course. This is how I met Prof. P.

Also, due to the scheduling change I am taking another course (one of my technical electives) a term early. I selected wastewater engineering because I did research in wastewater last summer as my job. Due to a problem in the computer system I also needed the signiture of the instructor. Through shear conincidence, this was also Prof. P.

Before seeing him for the second time I ran into another student who I worked with last summer in the department coffee shop. Again, conincidence (though not as much seeing as he's in my class). We get to talking and it turns out Prof. P. is the good friend of the guy we both worked for last summer (who we both really liked). The guy that we were told "oh ya, he can get you into grad school", or something like that anyways.

Anyways so because of all this, when I do see Prof. P for the second signiture I tell him that I want to take his course because I've worked in the field, and when he asks where his buddy/ my ex boss quickly comes up in coversation. I tell him about the word I did and it turns out he was massively involved in the project from behind the scenes. It also turned out that my immidiate supervisor on the project left not long after I did (I knew this, actually), but what I didn't know was that Prof. P was actually in the process of selecting a grad student to take it over! Although in this case he actually had a particular PhD. Student in mind.

So I talked with Prof. P. in his office yesterday for over an hour. He also had other suggestions for my upcomming engineering project/thesis (which I have to have thought of by the end of next week) including computer modeling, and said something about some of the leaders in the world in wastewater processing computer modeling are in the area. I asked who, and the first name he drops is a company I've had bookedmarked on my computer for months, which I expalin, was due to a man I sold stuff to - through eBay - who turned out to be in the field and had forwarded my resume on to some of the companies he deals with, and who I had gotten an email back from with regards to the fact that they were "interested". Little chuckle, turns out Prof. P. knows who the guy is, and is currently looking at a project proposal involing the guy which should he get it would require a co-op student (ie, yours truely in the fall). Yet another conincidence!

So ya, yesterday I had a lengthy conversation with a Proffessor in which, somehow, nearly everything even related to my career came up and even fit together. I'm absolutely astounded. Maybe I'll have a shot at grad school after all!

Maybe it is fate.

I didn't used to believe things happened for a reason, but I'm starting to as almost everything that has happened to me since my own messy breakup last fall seemed to happen for a speciifc reason that I've found that serves a greater good.

Who knows. But maybe.

Ya, you really get to know those 30 million pretty quick......

I think your mom was wondering if I knew those Canadians she met in Vegas by name. I was thinking of joking "no I don't know them".

Beer Commercial:

"So, you're from Canada? Do you know Glen? He like, works in an office?"

"Oh yes! Office Glen!" *places hand on should* "He's dead"
