So I am only going to be using my computer on the odd numbered days. Yesterday was the first day this year that I haven't checked this site and a few others. Most of the 3 or 4 hours I would average on-line was just reading forums and news site like fark.com (stay away if you haven't been there).

Even after one day of doing this my apartment is cleaner, I got 9 hours of sleep on a Monday night, and I went grocery shopping and didn't feel I had to rush to get home.

I do have to write down everything I would normally post and search for on-line, but the list isn't too bad yet.

The sad thing is I have to leave my laptop at work, behind all of the security and armed guards so I don't get bored and decide to use my computer because I have nothing better to do.

I'll see you on Thursday.

(And TiVo is the best thing for getting over TV addiction. Just don't get the service and guide after the first month. I just manually programmed in the handful of shows I have to watch.)

Why odd-numbered days? Why not even-numbered? ;)

I'm as addicted to the Internet as I am to heroin and cocaine. You can't ask me to give that shit up.

Yeah, I was kidding about the drug addiction part, but definitely not the computer addiction part.

I am fairly certain I had internet addiction while I was in High School. I was seriously obsessed. From the second I got home until about 3 or 4 in the morning I was online. I think that lasted about a year. I think it started because I HATED my life in high school, and it was an escape for me.

Luckily, when I went off to college I just outgrew it and only used it occasionally.

I use it quit a bit now, but mostly because I'm stuck on the computer all day at work.

The problem is finding other "escapes".

I had to laugh at that b/c generally if i'm home and not on the computer, i'm watching the shows i've TiVo'd... :googly:. If it ever actually gets warm out, hopefully i'll be outside too.

Why odd number days?

There is a simple explaination and the actual explanation.

Actual: I had the idea on a odd number day, and wanted to start tomorrow.

Better Answer: On months that end on the 31st, the 1st would be another odd day. And I'm not sure I could go for 2 days in a row without getting on-line.

Wait, I don't get it. Say the month ends on the 30th, then you're online the 29th, offline the 30th, and still back on the 1st. Every month starts on the first, so you won't ever have 2 offline days in a row. Oh well, whatever floats your boat!

sundevil - i was thinking today that i may try that, except i'd go with even days starting tmw. not sure if i could do it though. partly because my talking to deadend via internet keeps my cell bill down.

i did; however, just hop online AND I have been home for hours & hours. i actually cleaned a lot, made dinner, unpacked. i was very productive & i am actually gonna be online today for a total of 45 minutes. i am taking back my life. ha ha, you damn computer.
