My 24th birthday is coming up in September. Its on the 10th, but I want to have some kind of party on the 8th which is a Saturday. Does anyone have any suggestions on where would be a good place to have my birthday?

I want to invite a decent size group of people - like 20 or so. I want a place that's not too expensive and isn't too hard to get into cause I don't want my friends to have trouble getting in. Just a fun place with dancing that's not crazy expensive - in NYC.

You might want to try TimeOut.com or pick up an issue at your local newstand. I live here in Manhattan but since I don't go to clubs I am not an expert on that subject. However, I am sure you can find some smaller places in the Village (rather than going for the more well-known clubs) that would accomodate you and your friends. If you are looking to just go out for a meal, there is a great cafe/coffee bar on the upper west side called Xando-Cosi (two companies that merged to make one fabulous place). I am actually having my roommates birthday there this Saturday. They have a party room downstairs that you can rent or you can usually just call up a few hours in advance and tell them you have a large party that you are bringing and ask if they can reserve you a table. They have a website http://www.xandocosi.com if you want more info. Hope that helps!
