I was actually looking a little more toward the mid-life.....but, at 35, I don't feel that old and I am bascically back in the same place I was at 25, just less optimistic. At 25, I felt like I had the world by the balls. Just out of college, working in my field, making more money than I ever had, single, no problems, no worries, and very few bills! It was great! Now at 35, I am divorced, two kids, a house, down-sized, making less money, bills out the ying-yang, depressed, and to top it off, I have now clue which way to go.....about anything. I could go back to my field(I have been out of it for about 8 years), but I feel like I would be cheating my children/myself if I moved. I love them very much and I don't want to miss out on their chilhood, but at the same time I feel like selling everything I own and taking off to a major metropolis to explore my dreams. I can't make them happy, if I am not happy.
I guess the bottom line is, be careful who you choose as a mate, stay away from credit cards, always keep your resume updated, keep a list of goals, stay close to your friends and family, stay as active as you can, and be happy! It could be worse!
