There should be a law that if you bring food back to your office, it should not smell like ass. I am sorry, but ick, my area smells like something is rotting.....and it's not my food cause I'm eating a Hummus & Tomato stuffed pita with carrots & strawberries.....and it's not my coworker cause she hasn't even made lunch yet.

Barf.

We get some strange lunch smells around here, too.

We have this trio of old ladies who nuke fish for lunch every day. The whole break room and hallway reek of nasty fish for a solid hour. Ych.

Try having your cubicle be located right around the corner from the kitchen. Not only do you smell different things throughout the day, but you get hungry whenever you smell something, no matter how good or how bad it smells. So I'm pretty much hungry from 1030 am til 430 pm.

thank god the kitchen is far away from me. My office goes out to eat once a week or so (it's small) and it's the biggest pain in the ass sometimes. The first month I was here we went to this horrid mexican place every week if not more. and it's all becuase SOME people around here are picky and won'tt eat anything they can't pronounce.

Bwah! Elyse, have you ever smelled the waste that comes off an origin analyzer? That's got to be one of the grossest smells - rotting serum. Blegh

My old sports guy made microwave popcorn first thing EVERY MORNING. It was his breakfast of choice.

I used to heat up PopTarts, and everyone would ask "Who's baking cookies?" Hi, dumbasses, we don't have an oven.

I don't mind if people make popcorn...I hate it when they burn it. It stinks up the place. You don't need to be an Iron Chef to make microwave popcorn.

I hate that, too, but I'm guilty of it when I make it at work. The variance in microwaves is to blame. There's a fine line between the perfectly popped bag that doesn't leave a bunch of unpopped kernels, and smelly scorchy.

I agree with that. It's funny I've talked to co-workers about that. They're all about using the pre-set "Popcorn" button. I'm all about actually standing by the damn microwave and counting 2 to 3 seconds between pops. I worry about the extra kernels but they think the popcorn I make becomes to dried out. And I wonder why my company is losing clients.

At my last job, popcorn had been banned in the offices. It caused too much "distraction" & "mess".

Yes, and we had cubicle police making sure you didn't have such an offensive food at your desk.

Hah! I bet most of my food is offensive.

My boss requested that I not bring tuna fish, ever. In retaliation, I informed him that his beloved Caesar salad was flavored with anchovies, and now he won't eat it. Sucka.
