I think I need a roommate

Okay, I know I need a roommate for financial reasons. If my rent and utilities were split, I would be able to afford everything. I personally would rather not have a roommate, but I guess i have no choice. The crappy retail job I have now does not pay enough.
So I have no idea what Im doing. I need someone to move into my apartment, I have one extra bedroom. Any advice on how to go about doing this or just tips in general?
I suppose i should get the place in order, right now it is a MESS and has all my stuff in it. But in my head, if I start cleaning up it means Im really going to do it. But i have to, UGHH I hate changes!!

have you tried Craigs List -- you can post up that you need one -- I know a friend who did that and it ended up working fine

I've found all my roommates on craigslist and they've worked out fine. It might take a bit of looking to find the right roommate, but it's been good luck for me.
