So it's Sunday morning (ok noon), I'm leaving D's place and in a good mood and the sun is shining and I'm thinking "It's gonna be a good day." Wrong. I notice i have 5 Missed Calls on my phone. 4 from my mother, 1 from my neighbor (technically now my parents' neighbor). I have 2 voicemails. First one is mom saying "Where ARE you? Call me!" second one is neighbor filling me on plans for the night (neighbors and my parents and I are going to eating dinner). So then my phone starts ringing as soon as I am done checking voicemails and it's my mother AGAIN! I answer and she's all "where have you been? I've been calling you!" I apologized to her for not returning her call last night, and told her that I left my phone downstairs over night and just got to my phone. Then she starts asking "Downstairs? Why is your phone downstairs?" oops, I almost let it slip I was at a guy's house (my apartment doesn't have a downstairs) so I quickly said I stayed at a girlfriend's house last night. Then she asks why I didn't have my phone with me. Im sorry mom, but I don't keep my phone attached to my ear or carry it every place I go. And when I'm sleeping over at a guy's place, getting phonecalls is not exactly on my mind (I didn't tell her that, but was so mad that I wanted to tell her I was staying at a guy's place). She starts talking about how she's all worried that I didn't answer the phone and blah blah blah. Then tells me what the night's plans are. I tell her I'll be there and hang up.

What is up with her? I haven't lived at home for a year (and all of college) and she's acting like I need to call in and tell her where I'm at all the time. There are times where I've missed her calls before and she just shrugs it off, but for some reason she's freaking out like I've been kidnapped or something. And if I don't pick up the phone the first time, I'm probably busy and can't answer the next 5 times you call. Oh, and getting the neighbor to call me as well isn't exactly going to help either. ARRGHHH!!

The worst part is I almost didn't want to go home for dinner because she was pissing me off so much (it ended up being ok) but when I got there the first thing she asked me was "Why did you stay at your friend's last night?" :madder:

Yeah, I get sick of the way having a cellphone makes people think they have a right to get ahold of you every frickin' minute of your waking life. For goodness sakes, if I don't return your call immediately, it may mean:

A) I'm a work
B) I'm at work, and busy
C) I'm watching a movie and don't want to disturb other people in the theatre
D) I didn't get your message until too late at night to call
E) I desperately want to talk to you but am trapped under something heavy (okay, had to throw in that When Harry Met Sally reference...couldn't resist!
