First off I will say I am lucky to be working, because many people aren't, so I am not going to go on a bitch spree here. Anyway, our company has been going through a re-organization, and those are always fun. I had a meeting with my boss yesterday, and the meeting said to "discuss future project management opportunity", well when I went to the meeting I wasn't discussing anything. I was being told I am being put in a new positon. I really didn't have a a choice. And my boss said its a compliment to me. However, this job is not what I was hired to do at the company. Its a job that I have no desire to do. It's a job that I am sure is good experience for someone who wants to run that type of account. I work in advertising, and do non-traditional advertising (events, sports marketing) and love it. The new job is traditional advertising, print/tv etc. Its not where I want my career path to go. So help..what should I do? suck it up and do it? look for another job in the field I want to work in? This is really bringing me down. Any help is appreciated.
