Alright. So I didn't get the first job I really wanted. Then I got offered one I didn't want and turned it down. Then I didn't get offered a few I didn't want. Then I didn't get the second job I really wanted. Now I've been offered another one I really don't want (at least, couldn't see staying at for even a full year.)

I have one prospect left in the works for a job I think I'd really like. I have no idea what my chances are. I submitted my application three weeks ago, and they said they hoped to hire someone near the end of August, so there's a good chance they haven't even scheduled interviews yet. I thought there was another good prospect, but it turns out that the position is closed, they just forgot to take the ad down.

If I don't get this last one, I think I might be screwed. I will have been at home a year on Sept. 21, and my goal has been (and still is) to move out of here before then. I've got two weeks of work left.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Make the goal, you will.

I'm not a star wars person, but I just bought a whole bunch of star wars toys for my nephews and I thought the force would help you in this situation! I'm officially a dork!

Hang in there, things happen when least expected! ;):

Can you take the job you don't really want until something better comes along?

Yea, that seems logical for now...

I could except that they made it really clear that they need someone who will be there for a minimum of three years. I know they can't really ask that, but I'd be screwing them over bigtime if I took the job and then left, and I hate to do that.

I'll find out if I get an interview for the one last chance sometime in the next few days...

Oh that does change things... a bit.

However, most places have 60/90 day policies that if they don't like you or if you don't like job, you can leave or they can fire you... no strings attached. Or you can accept, and b4 your start date, have the interview and then tell them you were sorry but you got a better offer.... I dunno! It's a toughy
