Gal pals and myself are thinking of going to see it tonight. Should we see it, or save the 10 bucks at hit up a Taco Tues. instead?

I liked it. But it's not like the show. Boss and Roscoe are more mean badass types then goofy. But the Duke's were pretty funny in it and the General as always, kicks the ass.

I saw it Sunday and liked it.
Here's the deal: if you're looking for some sort of Oscar-worthy emotionally charged cinematic experience, you're going to hate it. If you're looking to have some laughs, remember the TV show and not have to think too hard, you'll love it. I say go. I enjoyed it.
I WAS pissed about Roscoe, though. Roscoe was a lot of things, but NEVER a hardass like the movie version. Willie Nelson is the friggin' SHEEE-UT!

I'm pretty pumped about Willie Nelson and Burt Reynolds, the rest I can take or leave. I'll probably see it, I saw Wedding Crashers twice. It kind of kills me to pay movie admission for something the stars themselves acknowlege has no actual plot, though. Mindless movies are usually for renting.

For those of you that saw it, was it obviously a Broken Lizard movie (Super Troopers, Club Dread)? I heard they did a TON of re-writes of the script (even though some other dude got the writing credit) and those guys are absolutely hysterical.

You know, I was NOT jazzed about Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg before we saw it, but he turned out ok. Not fat enough, though.
Willie Nelson is AWESOME. There's one scene where they are escaping from Roscoe (not much of a spoiler there; escapes make up the bulk of the movie) and Willie is jumping down from a hayloft and running around in the barn and I was thinking, "Damn! He's spry for a 70-something-year-old dude!" It was good to see. :)

Mmmm....maybe parts. There are a couple of supporting characters not from the TV show that you could probably write into Super Troopers pretty easily. There are some funny-ass scenes, though.

Yeah, not much like the show, but it was a very funny movie... and like was said, if anyone saw/laughed at supertroopers, you'll definately enjoy this (and the cameo's)
