Christopher Reeve's widow has lung cancer

I just found out on msn.com. It's an absolute shocker!!! Plus Jennings just died from lung cancer. Reeve's widow stated that she recently found out about the diagnosis & she'll be receiving proper treatment. I don't think she is a smoker, but I'm sure she'll have her family for support during this ordeal.

Let's hope the treatment options that Christopher Reeve worked so hard to educate others about (stem cells, etc.) might one day make the big "C" scare a thing of the past!

Yeah, I saw this on CNN today and I'm really sorry to hear this. For one, lung cancer has such a high mortality rate, then her son is only 13 and they just lost Christopher last fall. Not to mention we just lost Peter Jennings to the same cancer. I really hope they have caught things early.

She is NOT a smoker, oddly enough...and I did see a "special report" on the news a few days ago about how non-smoking women are getting lung cancer at higher rates than before. :confused:

There's something about seeing this thread started by the handle "hopeless" that kinda makes this all that much weirder to me. Anyway, I hope for the best for this family. I dont know how I'd deal with that kinda news...especially at 13.

yeah i heard about this too (technically yesterday). i feel really bad for their son. i can't imagine going through what he's gone through with his dad and what he's going through now with his mom. i hope it was caught early for her so that she has a better chance of survival.
