I am 23 and graduated from college in 99 and am definitely going through a QLC! I have a really hard time meeting new people now that I am out of college. All of my college friends are married, most with children. When we hang out together it tends to be in groups of couples, but I am single. My boyfriend and I just broke up a couple months ago. I'd like to start dating again, but have no idea how to meet interesting people! All the people I work with are over 30 and I don't live in a big city or anything (southern Oregon). I'm very shy, and I think people mistake that for aloofness. Any ideas on how to meet people? I just want to add also that I am so grateful for this sight. I thought I was the only one going through this!

You mention that your friends are all married. Do their husbands by any chance have any friends you could be fixed up with? Do your female friends work with any men that they think would be good for you?
Let people know you're interested in dating again. Blind dates can be painful sometimes but other times they work out.

If that doesn't work, take some classes at the college. Maybe you'll meet someone there.

I wish I could help you but I feel the same way. I just broke up a relationship awhile ago, I work with people who are all basically over 30 and married and all my friends are married. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I'm sorry to say I know how you feel! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hello,
Sign me up for the same situation. I would not have responded if you hadn't mentioned the aloofness factor. I am really a nice guy, but people seem intimidate by me, for God only knows what reason. If you have any ideas on how to change that perception, would love to know. However, I will say that I am no where near the crisis level. I really like being 25. For the most part I am not in any pain, still young and athletic and its summer time! As soon as winter hits in the Windy City, I might be singing a different toon, but for now life is not too bad.

Good Luck
