So my boss gets a new project in last week with a deadline of today. He tells me to do it. I do it. I give it to him yesterday. He comes to my office today, madder than hell. "You didn't write it correctly...I'm thinking it needs to be like this." Okay....here's why it can't be like this...I did the research and it says x,y, and z. That's why you have 125 pages of reports that say x, y, and z. "Well we need to change it to say a, b, and c." So he gets an extension and yells at me for needing an extension and not telling him until the last day (Um...I do not need an extension...YOU do, thanks). Then he outlines a new set of reports saying a, b, and c (which are very general principles, but the research does not support them...it says x, y, and z). Then he brings the outline to me, tells me to redo the report, have it by Monday on his desk.
FUCK THIS!!!!!
You know, dammit, if you want to write it that way, then write it that way. If you want to rely on my research, then dammit rely on it and let me write the damn thing (which is correct--no way will we end up with a final product that says a, b, and c...it's just NOT there). Give me an assignment or don't. With this deal he might as well just say, "Ray...write a 100 page report on what I am thinking right now!"
Needless to say my weekend is gone. And do I get paid extra. Ha! I'm going to hang myself from my balcony for all to see.
