I know it's a problem for me. The little things seriously just set me off. I mean, I don't care if the equipment tears itself to bits. We can put in new stuff or fix the broken stuff. It doesn't bother me if I have to work the weekend. I get paid OT and double time then. I don't care if the schedule goes to shit because the condenser is F'ed. Not my problem -- just let me know when we're ready to go again. The entire plant could burn to the ground. I'll just get in the car and go home.
Yet, when the satellite shits the bed, or when it's connection speed has slowed or is intermittent, and I need to get an email sent out, then Jesus H. Christ. Private Pyle, I will unscrew your head and shit down your throat. If the outside phone line doesn't work and I'm trying to call in for some corporate, yearly & mandatory "integrity" training, but can't... If I come in to work on a Saturday to get shit done, and the dumb fuckers have cut through the power and phone lines and the water is off for the second time this month... If I create a technical write-up in an offline tool and then can't synch it because the date format is wrong, it tells me to change it, but then it prohibits me from changing it... If the printer or scanner won't work when I need it to after it has worked superbly for months at a time, then I just want to release the fury!!! If I'm trying to communicate with someone on the radio, and when I press the button and it beeps at me, then I wish I could imagine it to be a hand grenade and toss it as far as I possibly can. Same thing for my mobile phone when I lose the signal standing in the same spot that just had a four bar signal. Losing all the changes I've made to my expense report...why do I even bother sometimes...
   :madder:
Is there any reason why it so hard to have reliable internet connections, especially when it's called out for in the contract for a broadband connection to be installed? Can someone please explain why the phone will lock itself when I hit zero 3 times in a row...so frustrating considering that I have to dial zero to get outside and then 00 to begin calling the US! And, if you cut thru power and communication cables once, you would think that you know where they are after that, and that you wouldn't cut thru them another half dozen times within several weeks.
I can't be the only one like this...please!!!
