Baby news!!!!!!

Greetings and salutations, everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that I am now officially a Mommy. My little man was born at 11:54 on Tuesday, August 23. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz, and was 21" long. Tall and thin, like his daddy! :D Everything went really well - fairly textbook delivery. I really only had hard labor pains from about 3 am to around 7:30 am when I received my epidural. (Epidurals are a gift from God - I HIGHLY recommend them!) I only pushed for about 2 hours, then my OB opted for vacuum extraction. I was really tired and my doc felt that vac extract would minimize tearing, which it did. The baby was a bit cone-headed because of it, but that went away within a day or two. The baby and I both did so well and felt so good that we ended up going home the next afternoon. I could have stayed another night if I had chosen, but I prefer to be home if I can. More comfortable there.

Of course he is beautiful. :) But more than that, we have been supremely blessed with a Good Baby. Unless he is poopy or hungry, he rarely cries or fusses. He's slept through the night twice already, and he's only 12 days old! We've been very lucky. I hope he stays this good - make it easy on me!

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Wish I could stick around and post more, catch up with everyone, but just can't do it. I'm still trying to talk Steve into internet access at home. ;)

I don't want to freak Mid out (or anyone else) but my internet sleuthing skills brought me to the hospital where the baby was born...and I was able to figure out the password to see the baby, tee hee.

He's beautiful, Mid! I like the pic where he has his finger in his mouth, very Dr. Evil, lol.

EDIT--I thought his full name is Steven, not just Steve...? Or is Steve his nickname?

He's FABULOUS, of course! :) He is such a sweet baby. He never gives me any trouble. He's not colicky, eats on a regular schedule, he's been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks already, and he's pretty much just a happy little baby. He's been smiling at us for a couple of weeks, also. He's been able to hold his head up practically since the moment he was born and has been standing up the last four or five days. We have to steady him of course, but he's got strong little legs and he can support his own weight for a long time! He's very vocal and "talks" to us all the time. He pretty much naturally fell into a pattern of being awake and alert during most the day and sleeping well at night. We moved him into his bedroom about two weeks ago, and we're ALL sleeping better.

I'm really blessed. :D

I'm so happy to hear that!!! A was alot like that too. Not real fussy, sleppt through the night and she picked her head up off the drs shoulder the day she was born. Not that she wasn't wobbly mind you, but it didn't take her long to figure it out. I'm so glad everything is going so well.

I DID! :D I got one from you, Kelly and Heather. And I've purchased cards to send in thanks, however they still seem to be on my dining room table waiting to be addressed. So you see....I'm in the same boat. ;)
