I spent the day with two girls from Poland. They had become really good friends of mine during this past summer, and last night they came up to Boston to visit me. I took them to the Prudential center, to a couple of really old and beautiful churches, Harvard, Newbury Street, and the Boston Common. And at the end of the day I helped them get their bus passes back to Woods Hole.
They loved being here with me and I loved having them. And in a way I had taken care of them all summer, and they loved me for it. And now I know that that is who I am--I take care of other people.
I will visit Poland in November, and if not then, February. In July I am supposed to go to a wedding there, and next September I may begin teaching there.
But the short of it is, I really had a wonderful day and I found a large piece of who I am.
Thank you for listening.
