I go through spurts like this. So far, it's been every day this week, and I've given into it. I always get the sausage biscuit, no egg meal with an extra hash brown and a diet coke. I usually skip lunch or eat fruit/salad to "justify" it. I am craving it again right now!!

It's amazing how addictive fast food is isn't it? I'm not big on McDonalds, but I used to go through Wendy's kicks every now and then.

Never liked McD's breakfasts but I do get into Whataburger cravings. Usually, if the craving is psychotically strong, then I do allow myself their #7-which is a Whataburger Jr.; small fries; 12 oz drink--I figure it's better than getting the "full size" meal.
Maybe get the sausage biscuit but skip the hashbrowns? I don't know, sometimes I think it's better to indulge in the craving and then move on. :)

My office is five feet away from McDonalds...and it's the only place to get food that is within walking distance. It's horrible. Everyone here at the dealership visits the good ole arches at least a few times a week. BUT, I've realized that you can totally make healthy choices there...but alas I didn't this morning. Bacon, egg and cheese bagel, and man was it good.

Ever since I studied McD's in a marketing class & learned the design for the curvy M is because it reminded consumers of breasts & mother's nurturing, I just haven't been able to buy stuff from there...........

It really is. It's unbelievable how addicting it is. If I don't eat it for a while, I NEVER even crave it, but if I have it once, it takes a while to get rid of those cravings . It's crazy.
However, I have noticed that I'm not satisfied by their meals anymore (unless I'm terribly hungover). McD's ruined their McNuggets and I don't like anything else at Wendy's or Burger King, so I just don't want it at all. If I'm craving something bad, I'll get potato nuggets at Mr. Subb to satisfy it.

I am really curious as to what the chemical additives are and what the psychotropic effects of them are.

Heehee, it's based out of Corpus Christi & I think is only in Texas, Louisianna,Mississippi, Alabama & North Florida. They rock, though.

Ahh.... In Ontario we have Fast Eddies. It was mainly a crazy fry place, but now they have amazingly greasy burgers. I'm told their whole shtick is that they don' thave a grill..... they put the hamburgers in the deep frier....

Yeah, me too. I don't even remember Fast Food Nation talking about that... There has to be something in there, though.

Yes, it's subconscious, they are called "Hidden Persuaders"
The M stands for McDonald’s, but the rounded m represents mammaries, acccording the design consultant and psychologist Louis Cheskin. In the 1960's McDonald's was prepared to abandon this logo, but Cheskin successfully urged the company to maintain this branding with its Freudian symbolism of a pair of nourishing breasts.
Hidden Persuasion marketing consultants & psychologists try to find new ways to seduce us into buying by manipulating our unconscious wants.

Which explains why that kind of fruedian psychology would have been good subconcious marketing at the time in the 60's, but I thought that kind of fruedian imagry phych has been largly classified as bunk now

I like Sausage McMuffin w/ egg, but I pretty much only get it when I'm road-tripping.

Oh Deadend this freudian image in advertising/marketing is still alive and well! It is usually more obvious if it is phallic in nature.
Then there is that nag factor that kids exert on their mothers to buy food/toys. In one of my marketing classes, I found my mommy was what some marketers would call a "mean mommy" bc she would not buy crappy food products for her household no matter the nagging.
Hmmm... Although Mickey Ds breakfast looks gross compared to a homemade fry up... I usually crave the odd Mickey Ds sundae...

It was, but is showing a come back. There are some AMA articles about how various companies are using it.....I'll see if I can find them online....
