I'm really glad with what I saw tonight watching the Ranger and the Flyers. It was cool to see the freedom the player have now without all the clutching and grabbing. It was strange to see how big the offensive zone is now. Overall I was very impressed.
Also, I think OLN did a fantastic job of covering the game both on and off the ice. Really nice. Even some bonus coverage in there with the post game interviews.

One word....Penguins!!
Have you seen our roster this year?
Mario is looking awesome....
And don't forget the new phenom which has been melting the ice with his play...Crosby!! Tickets are going to be a rare commodity in Pittsburgh this year. But I have a friend that has access to season tickets. So I hope to get to at least a few games.

I note that rosby did pot one last night, however from what I saw his play did not impress me that much during the preseason, however it is a big adjustment from Junior hockey in the Quebec League to playing with men in the NHL. He has some tools in the toolbox......

The veterans skating with him on both sides of the puck said he was very impressive. His puck control...passes...seeing the ice...and he had several assists and goals in the preseason if I am not mistaken.
The pace is obviously a lot different in the regular season than preseason as well like it is in any sport, so there will need to be adjustments made. But look at the veterans and legends he has around him to mentor him and help him adjust. Barring injury I think you will see him as rookie of the year at the end of the season and a major part of a fantastic hockey season in Pittsburgh.

Go Leafs!
Ok last night was a heartbreaker.... but common, if it did show us one thing it'st that the pre-season does not determine a heck of alot. That's why they didn't hand out the cup this week!

That's why they didn't hand out the cup this week!Yep, because if they handed it out last week they would have had to give it to San Jose, who dropped their opener last night.
Sad the Leafs lost (they're my other favorite team). At least it was in a shootout.

Man, I'd love to go to the Leaf's / Sens game here in Ottawa this weekend. But.... it's sold out and I'm going to the States.

Exactly!!!! I dont really consider that a win. The first goal by McAdams- now thats my friends is a goal. In my view the leafs really won!

uuugggh leafs fans - the nhl's answer to the enternal optimist.......
sorry dude but leafs suck - however the upside is that they may have a shot at john tavarres - the next great player in the ohl.
the stanley cup will be coming home in the spring, however it will reside in Ottawa, Calgary or Vancouver.

LOL! I cheered for them when I was a kid, I know the feeling.
I've been cheering for the Flames for several years now. Living in Leaf territory, it's practically blasphemous, but I'm hoping they win the cup this year. It'd also be cool if it ends up in the Sens hands.

I'm sorry but there is no way that Ottawa can win the stanley cup if the leafs make the playoffs and they face off with one another (little known fact but last time the Ottawa Senators won the cup was in 1928).
Toronto just always beats them. It's just a fact, like tomorrow morning the sun will rise and then in the evening it will set.
Do I believe that Toronto will win the cup? Probably not but I can always have hope.
Unfortunately Vancouver and Calgary always have such a hard time getting past each other that the one that wins usually wears the other team down.
I do however hope one canadian team brings home the cup though.

Yes the sens did make it to the playoffs and Surprise, Surprise they lost to the Leafs. I'm sorry its just a fact that if Toronto faces Ottawa in the playoffs, Ottawa will lose.
