Hi Guys! After 3 stressful months of job hunting, being depressed, and worrying myself sick, I got a call for a job!! I landed a job as a Junior Color Specialist with a photography studio in Charlotte, NC. I will be working 3rd shift, which I think I can handle since I stay up really late. My responsibilities will include monitoring and checking the printers, dealing with their digital imagery, and checking printed photos for color errors or mistakes. My degree in graphic design has officially been validated since it's what helped me get this job! The best thing is, it pays a little more than I had originally expected, and after working there for a month or so, I should be able to get a place of my own in Charlotte!! It looks like my dreams may finally be coming true for once in my life.
I just wanted to let everyone know the good news. I also want to thank everyone for their kindness and words of advice during some of the darkest days of my life. Also, to anyone who is unemployed out there... don't give up, something will come, as long as you are trying your best and doing everything you can. Look at me! I never thought I would ever find any decent job that would make my college degree worthwhile. I waited over 2 years, working at a job I hated, then I decided enough was enough, and I resigned. I was scared I wouldn't find work again, but I told myself that I wouldn't take less pay because I was worth it and I had a college education. I can't say it's been easy, I've gained some gray hair in the process, but all the hard work finally paid off. Hopefully this job will be a good fit and it will last. Wish me luck guys! I will still visit the boards because they are the best therapy I have ever received. Good luck to everyone else! ;)
XOXO -James
