This project I'm working on - which is double the workload I said I could handle, incidentally - is so CYA-laden it is sickening. The Project Manager is MIA in Nebraska or something, so the acting Project Manager is 'eating up the budget'. They're at each other's throats and CYA-ing like it's going out of style to the tune of at least four emails a day. Now, b/c I'm in the midst of all of this, I have sent no less than EIGHT CYA emails this afternoon.

This is just dumb. We all work for the SAME company and this is all for the SAME client.

I know Morgan's had similar nonsense with CYA-ing...but, honestly. Is this out of the ordinary or what?!

I thought you were telling us, "See ya!" I was like, "Uh....bye?"

Hey blueyes, I was just in Myrtle Beach this weekend, I scoped out some space on the beach where we can set up our own consulting firm with GMODC like we were talking about. :)

I hear you on the finger-pointing and CYA - I have the same thing going on with architects all the time. We are their paid consultants but at the same time we have to present a united "design team" front to the owner and contractor, and it really is funny to look at people's behavior sometimes - in certain instances if mistakes are made the architect unites with us to try to blame the contractor, other instances they step back and point blame at us. Everyone seems to want to turn projects into a fight rather than work as a team.
