Hello, I'm in SC, not NC...Greenville, SC, but maybe not too far away to develop some sort of group..can't find anyone here. My name is Joe, I am 27, I'm a media professional.

Hi NC AND SC folks:
I live in Charlotte. I am considering putting together a group coaching around issues faced by folks in their 20's and how to meet the challenges. I'm a Certified Professional and Personal Development Coach. Is this something that you think folks would be interested in? Sessions would be held like a teleclass. Folks would call into a central phone line and we'd go from there. Lots of folks have said that they'd be interested in an interactive, reasonably priced class. Your feedback and suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jatrine Bentsi-Enchill

Eastern NC here - Charlotte to be exact. QLC all the time!! Biggest concern? Finding a job I love that pays the bills! :(

Hello, I am thinking about moving next summer, and Raleigh sounds like a wonderful place (cost of living low, job growth higher than a lot of cities). Would anyone mind telling me how you like it?
Right now I live in Little Rock, AR. I’m 25, and all of my friends are either engaged or married. Little Rock is nice, but I would like to try someplace different, hopefully with more cultural opportunities (art centers, museums, etc) and chances to meet single people my age.
Does Raleigh have a good nightlife? Is it easy or really difficult to meet people? I realize that most of that will depend on me, but some places are more open and interesting than others are. Thank you so much for any info you can give me! :)

I don't live in NC, but I know exactly what you are going through. In April, I picked up and moved from a college town in OK to Nashville for the exact same reason. My frustration was I was 29, living in a college town, single , not in college and hoping to meet a girl over 22. So far I love the atmosphere here. There are many singles in the same boat looking to hang out and enjoy some of the same activities. Also, the job market is much better. You can search ahead at www.careerbuilder.com for any place in the US. Hope that helps.

Raliegh is great! Lots to do. It has an amazing music scene and Nightlife. You have Duke and UNC close by as well. You're near the coast. People there are friendly. I say, go for it! What have you got to lose!

wrbroadpro, thanks for the info on Nashville! My cousin lives their actually and she loves it too. I'm so glad you're happy there! Your town in OK sounds just like LR...groan..ha,ha.. Thank you for the note!
Mackles, thanks for the encouragement! Raleigh does sound really cool. I always here so many positive things about it. I love that it's near the coast too - how fun!
I'm giving this job 8-9 more months (want to give it at least a year) and will hopefully move then. My sister and I are going to fly there to check it out soon, hopefully in the next month or two. That will be very helpful in learning more about the city.
The main thing after visiting is find a j-o-b. Monster.com here I come.

Jennyrent, let me know how things went in Raleigh. If you have 2 days or so to spare go down to Wilmington Beach. It's about a 2 1/2 hr ride and you'll live to thank me. It's wonderful! Good luck!

Thanks Mackles! Home of Dawson's Creek....gotta love it. Not that I know any guys who just have to watch Dawson's Creek. Well except for my gay friend Jason. Anyway, great suggestion, thanks!

hey jennyrent! I'm from Cary (just outside Raleigh). Raleigh is an awesome place to live! I just have some words of warning. I don't know what line of work you're in but job prospects have been kind of bad in the Raleigh area lately. I have a technical degree (electrical engineering) and finding a job in that area was next to impossible. I'm not trying to be a downer at all but just make sure you scope out the job prospects first because I think that area was hit hard by this slump in the economy. Good luck with everything.

Try Charlotte! Might have better luck with the job search. Seems to be a younger city. I never lived in Raleigh, but used to do a lot of business in and around there. Seemed more settled (married w/kids) or college age.
Plus the skyline is prettier here;)
