Has this happened to anyone else in a LTR? I just returned from the doctor, who informed me that my 13 pound gain over my 13 month relationship makes me "not too overweight"!?!

Why, why does this always happen? I wouldn't trade my wonderful BF for my formerly fit self, but why can't I have both? Aargh.

Its just comfortable and I didn't eat out nearly as much as when I did before I starting dating my BF. We go out to eat ALLLL the time where as before I would have been fine with eating a salad at home. And it could also be attributed to eating the same things as he does. My BF is your typical meat and potatoes guy, which I like too, but wouldn't normally pick for myself if he werent around. All that combined = fat & happy :)

ok, maybe not fat, but you know what I mean...

You can have both. I struggle w/ it too because my boyfriend is 6' and 150. he's naturally just very thin and eats whatever he wants and doesn't work out.

When we go to the movies, he gets a tub of popcorn and candy. I've started bringing low-cal and low-fat microwave popcorn to the movies.

When we decide to go out, I always suggest places I know have healthy options on the menu.

I do all the grocery shopping and don't allow unhealthy food in the house.

I'm pretty much the same size as your boyfriend, but I don't eat that much. I usually eat twice a day and it doesn't take much to get me full.

I hear you about eating out all the time. We do the same, and I always have to remind myself that I can't eat the same amount as a 6 ft., 195 pound man.

Any luck getting your SO to work out with you? I'd like to suggest it so that I have a workout buddy, but don't want it to come across like "Hey, you're gaining too, better hit the treadmill!" :)

Actually, my BF is in the gym EVERYDAY, so he encourages me to go, not in a mean way at all. But we go to diff gyms so we don't really work out together but do run together everyonce in a while.

I think he eats twice a day too, really. He doesn't eat that much - but he eats bad. Also, he loves snack food. He'd probably eat it more if I kept it in the house.

I eat like a hog with my boyfriend. But we walk a lot after we eat these giant meals out, so I haven't put on any weight.

I'd like to point out that, as an amazon, I actually CAN quite easily eat like a 6-foot tall, 195 lb man.

Don't worry. She only steals stuff off my plate. And tries to move the straw out of the way right as I'm about to take a drink.

He's right, Jess. I'm a food stealer.

It really pisses WB off. However, I must point out that if he scarfs his damn food too fast, he will then start taking French fries from me. :(

Ditto. I'm not teeny by any stretch of the imagination and I'm usually pretty damn active. I blame my genetics.

I don't know why, but I always seem to LOSE weight when I'm in a relationship. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm more likely to sit infront of the tube and chow down when I'm single (like NOW!).

Yup, I'm out and about more when I'm dating somebody...not so many nights in, reading, etc.
