The thing that worries me with the next election is this... Bush has F-ed things up pretty good, so some will be more likely to vote for "other guy". Doesn't matter who, just someone beside this joker. And that worries me. Are we ever going to get someone in there that I feel deserves my vote? Right now I feel like as long as the other candidate hasn't done anything atrocious he's got me. "Well, Candidate Other Guy, have you ever eaten a newborn baby?" "No I haven't." "great, here's my vote."
Part of me wants to boycott voting. Make a conscious choice to not vote. It seems we get screwed no matter whose in there. So voting, no matter who for, is passively supporting a system which is pure junk. It's like the lawsuit against McDonalds a while back over them putting beef fat in their frying oil and not telling people. I guess some hardcore veggies and hindus were super pissed. Hindus particular, because technically McDonalds has made them sin grievously. Although I enjoy a corporation getting one in balls, I can't help but wonder why the hell veggies and hindus were eating at McD's in the first place. They were passively supporting them, even though they weren't buying meat. Just like you passively say the system is fine everytime you vote. I know its a little extreme, but I can't help thinking this opinion has some logical merit to it. More people don't vote than for anyother candidate. Hasn't the majority spoken? The majority wants something different!
