After browsing this board for a while, I found common elements coming up over and over again in so many people's posts. Boredom and stagnation. I think that most of us probably have lives that the average person might find interesting and successful. The problem is that we do the same things every day, over and over again.. until we get stuck in a rut, and nothing seems interesting anymore.

I currently live on a tropical island, surrounded by water and palm trees. Most people would find this place pretty cool if they were to visit. Yet sometimes, I am bored out of my mind here. Sometimes I feel like I may as well be in Newark, New Jersey, for all I appreciate this place and the things i can do here.

Anyways.. so the solution i've come up with... is to do something crazy and novel..on a regular basis... Learn how to fly a small airplane.. go scuba diving... skydive... Go climb a small mountain...

Only when you are half way up the mountain, sweating like crazy, with a backpack full of supplies, and totally out of breath... do you begin to appreciate the comfort of your air conditioned room and your nice, soft bed. You no longer take the great things you have in your life for granted...
Of course, your appreciation will soon fade away again a couple of days after you get back home. But you can always go do something crazy again just to break the monotony of day to day life...

I agree... because I often feel like a hamster running around in that little wheel... round and round... going no where... fast!
