My hair is seriously dead. The hair dresser gave me some special shampoo and conditioner which helped a little...but it still is like...crispy. Must be partially due to the fact that I get it foiled. I don't know what more to do. I need some sort of treatment...

try redken anti snap leave in conditioner treatment. it's awesome!

also, a couple nights a week, you may want to sleep with jojoba oil in your hair...just put a towel over your pillow so it doesn't stain.

Lay off the styling products, especially those that contain drying alcohols. Don't shampoo more than once or twice a week. Shampoo is drying, and hair really doesn't get that dirty day-to-day. Rinse with water and use a good conditioner on the off days. Hand lotion can keep the static down a bit--just swipe your hands across your head after you rub lotion into them. Be careful with the oils--jojoba is good in moderation, as is olive oil, but too much will make the brittleness worse. Oh, and avoid blowdrying. I find that my hair air dries like fifty times faster in the winter than in the summer anyway (due to moisture-zapping heaters and low humidity).

Another push for hair serum...it's working wonders now that I'm in dry, static-heavy winter weather. I'm using John Freida Frizz Ease extra strength, but Redken has been good, too.

You could try an in-shower deep conditioning treatment. My hair tends to be dry, and even some extra moisturizing salon brands just don't cut it. I like Tigi Bed Head's Moisture Maniac line, but I've also found Dove Intense moisture works just as well.
