The movie was SO good. I really enjoyed it and I cried at one part, too. It brought back so many memories. That was my favorite book as a child. I have the whole CS Lewis collection and I do cherish it!

I read an interview with Tilda Swinton (the white Witch) today and I can't WAIT to see it...I won't have time until after Christmas but I almost never get this way about a new movie! I'm glad to hear you liked it...

I loved it!!! I thought the movie was great. My bf thought the slo-mo scenes and cgi animals were a little too much, but he liked the story (he's read them all). I never read the books as a child, but read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, right before seeing the movie. I was told the religious references get more blatant in the following books of the series. Although I said I was having trouble seeing how much more blatant it could get. My bf explained that people actually pray to Aslan, and Aslan turns into a lamb in the later books. Anyway, not that I'm complaining, I actually like the religious references, I just think it is really interesting that it could be so mainstream. But what was up with Peter, couldn't they find another brunette with blue eyes and freckles?

I liked the movie. It met my expectations just fine. Remember these books were a kids fantasy series so it's more for kids and those who read the books when they were young. I loved the books but I hardily remember anything about them.
The actor who played Mr. Tumnus was amazing and Lucy did quite a good job too. Everyone says there are a ton of religious references. I only saw one maybe. Maybe I didn't look for them hard enough.
I liked the battle and chase scenes. Overall, it was a decent movie and it captured the feel of the book well.

The religious references were pretty blatant, but only if you know what to look for. I saw it yesterday, and I admit I was curious how "Christian" it was going to be. There were a number of references, but mostly it was just a good story based on solid Christian values. Forgiveness, faith, loyalty, helping your friends, these are all good lessons for anyone. No one's going to watch the movie and then convert to Christianity for it. The movie was fun, I liked it a lot. The cgi animals were a lot better than I expected.

I really had no interest in seeing this movie...just didn't appeal to me. But I have been hearing such amazing things about it that I might go to the theater and see it. I have never read the books.

I want to see it, and right now I have all the books on cd so I'm listening to them during my long ass car rides. I've only read the lion , the witch and the wardrobe, when I was younger.

you are all fired. no one clicked my link, which features an SNL skit from last week - a digital short consisting of a rap about Narnia. the movie was worth it as inspiration for that skit alone. totally brilliant.

good. yeah, that's pretty much the funniest thing SNL has done ever. i happened to catch the live broadcast, and completely lost my mind during "SNACK ATTACK MOTHERF@CKER!"
apparently, t-shirts are already for sale featuring various stills from the video.

My favorite is the cowbell sketch with Christopher Walken.
"I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell."
"Listen to me, boys, and you'll all be wearing gold-plated diapers."
I saw this ad for SNL's Funniest Moments or something like that, and it turns out that it wasn't a replaying of the funniest moments, but interviews about the funniest moments. They hardly showed the clips at all! Lamest show ever.

My understanding is that C.S. Lewis always insisted that the books contain no religious allegories whatsoever. Yeah, right! I don't buy that for one minute, lol. Regardless though, I grew up as a kid reading the whole series several times and am looking forward to seeing the movie.

Just saw it today...
Tilda Swinton was fabulous. Interesting how she took the White Witch as a sort of "Aryan" dominator a la Hitler.
The kids were hit-or-miss. Lucy was the best.
I'm really glad I saw it. The river-melting scene was excellent. The religious "tone" was definitely there but it wasn't overwhelming. And it stayed very true to the book. I'm hoping they continue the series. . . it would be nice to see them do the "Magician's Nephew" which is the prequel to LW&W and shows how the White Witch appears in Narnia at its founding.
