too cheap for business cards

I cannot believe this. I have requested new business cards, because I have been married and changed my name, and I was denied! I can't believe that they are trying to tell me that my position does not merit having business cards! They're like $6 for crying out loud! Not to mention the fact that I recieved them 3 years ago when I started this job. Arggh! Where's my white out?

You should scribble them out (messily) and write your new name really big and then find a way for your boss to see them. Leave it on your desk, drop one at a meeting, etc.

Just kidding. Is your office going through financial problems? Is there anyone else who's had a name change since you've been there that you can talk to--see what was done for them?
