Depends on your skin. For me, I'm usually red all day after the wax and then the next day I'm still pink. I have really fair, sensitive skin.

It usually goes away after a few hours for me.
Ice might help? Or just make it more red... Or foundation/cover stick. Unfortunately, I think you're going to have to wait this one out.

Yeah I should add that my skin is so sensitive that I'm still red like I mentioned even though they use this special sensitive wax thats for waxing facial hair. (It's pink).

Get yourself an ice pack.

you could buy some after-wax soothing cream...avon makes one that i use. or just use a calming toner afterwards.
I have sensitive skin and my eyebrows would get red and puffy when I waxed. I'd say ice pack and not to wax anymore. I just stick to tweezing. But if you want someone else to do it, I'd suggest getting them threaded.

I'm pretty fair skinned and I only get a bit pink, but thats usually just for that day.
I would have to agree that cold ice may help.

I've never heard of threading before, sounds interesting. I almost cried when a beautician tweezed my eyebrows, I'm never doing that agian if I can help it.
tired, you could tell people you hit your head against something, though I'm not sure how extensive the redness is.

Usually a few hours or so for me.

I have never waxed or tweezed my eyebrows, I wonder if that makes me weird. Its not like I have a unibrow or anything.

You are lucky! Cuz I'd definitely have a unibrow if I didn't wax...
what the hell is threading? I tweeze, I've never tried waxing...
Since the puffiness and redness are from an inflammation, ice/cold should help reduce that.

Yeah, I asked my bf what he thought and said I'd look weird if I tweezed them and he likes them the way they are. I do remember one of my friends telling me that I should tweeze, but she is a particularly hairy girl so maybe thats why she thinks everyone needs to tweeze.

You are ssooo brave... I have never tried it... but I would never try it on my lunch break for the first time... they might have really screwed you up... but they didn't ... so that's good. Sorry I can't offer any advice... but something tells me you will just have to wait it out.
Threading is like when they take a long string, put on end in their mouth, twist it, place it on the area where hairs are to be removed and pull. Sorry that was a pretty crappy description. It's hard to describe. It's like tweezing with a string but pulling several hairs in one swipe. You can find people to do it in an Indian beauty salon, or I've gone to a Persian one before. Google it? :)

It's been a trend lately for people to over-tweeze their eyebrows so they have like nothing. It's better to have two full eyebrows! :)

I've also never waxed or tweezed or threaded. I'm not generally especially hairy, and my hair is very light-colored naturally. I'm also lucky, b/c I've always been told my brows have a good natural shape. I understand the need to clean up stray hairs, but I'm not a fan of the overtweezed, sparse, pencil-y brow look.

Skyblade, I don't either. I don't think I'm weird, but I have very light, thin eyebrows anyway. I have no interest in altering my eyebrows, either. Waxing and tweezing both sound painful.

I pluck about twice a week. I'm not one for body-hair removal, but I'm Italian, so my eyebrows in their natural state are completely out of control. I look like a beast!
And sadly, I inherited the fair coloring from the Northern Italian side, so I get very red and irritated after plucking. What helps me is doing it right after a shower, because my pores are open and the process is easier and virtually painless.
I used to tweeze pencil-thin in high school until my sister told me that if I overplucked, some of the hairs might not grow back and I'd have that shape forever. Now, I go for more natural....but in my case being half Indian and half Italian (pretty hairy) the "natural" look is a lot of work!

Hm...reading about your ancestry makes me glad I'm German-Irish. I have very fair, minimal body hair. However, I have lots of fine, naturally blonde head hair. I think I inherited the amount from my father, who's 100% German, and has fabulous nearly-black hair, whereas I got my coloring from my mother, who has very pale hair, and is generally light-complected. If I ever were to have sons, they'd never have to worry about losing their hair, at least if the "baldness comes from the mother's father" stories are true.

Yup, same, here. Same heritage, same paleness, same lack of dark body or facial hair.
