It seriously disgusts me. Now, I know that after women get older and have babies they can't control themselves as much, but ugh...at least wait until the bathroom is empty?
I always wait until the bathroom is empty to go.

To be perfectly (and probably entirely too) honest, I'm a truck driver... any "potty shyness" left me about a year ago. Besides, if you've got to go, sometimes you can't wait for someone slow to get out of the bathroom. :frustrate

I tihnk it's stupid when people are potty shy (I'm mugging your description, canela). Everyone sh*ts. No one is different. If you have to go, you go. Big deal. I got over it a long time ago, too.
Also, I have friends/family with a disease that doesn't allow them to "not go" just because someone is also in there. They're not trying to smoke you out, they just have to go.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!! (I love poop-related threads!)
I, for one, have problems shitting anywhere but my own bathroom, or the bathroom at my parents' house. For as long as my BF and I have been together, I STILL have issues pooping in his apartment. It kind of bothers him, I think, but it's really nothing personal. I just have bashful bowels.
On that note, however, at my last newspaper, the men's bathroom was right near my desk. My friend and I always knew when our editor was going to go take a dump because he'd walk in with a huge stack of newspapers and stay in for like 15 minutes. Sometimes we'd even hear the festivities. EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
:p :D
yeah seriously, just be glad that you are healthy enough to be able to control when you crap.
i also have a friend with crohn's, and if she has to go, she has to go. it's a miserable disease.

Agreed- what do you do.. hold it in for 10 hours till you are home? I know its gross but I am not going to hate someone for it. I am past that stage.

I have similar irrational issues, and while I realize that it's really stupid, that doesn't make them go away. Happily, it's not that big a deal to me and it doesn't keep me from living my life. I figure I can indulge in a few irrational issues as long as they're not too bad.
I believe we got a good laugh out of this topic last summer.... How to Poop at Work (http://www.quarterlifecrisis.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12378&highlight=poop+work)

I do my best to wait until the ladies is clear, but sometimes my intestines have other ideas and its PAINFUL.
But I have waited 10 HOURS until I got home to go....
And Ive never gone at the guys house who Im seeing....took me forever to do that with my last BF and even then, fan, water and his playing music in his room....
What worse, is I have my own bathroom in my bedroom and when my guy stays over....I cant go!! In my own house!! So sometimes Ill get up early early morning and go to the spare bathroom downstairs......though Im sure he can hear from there too.
Ug......

I personally believe in the value of a good courtesy flush if things get a little loud.

I have a radio in my bathroom that I use while I'm showering but I can see this as an extended use.

Potty shy? Bashful bowels? LMAO!
My personal belief is that if you gotta go, you gotta go. That's what bathrooms are for.
The thing that grosses me out is that some people don't courtesy flush to get rid of sound and smell. If there's no (air freshener) spray, flush it away!

PV get some real problems! At least there is no deaf guy jacking off loudly in the bathroom stall. Now that is a problem! Yes it is based on a true story.
IMO it is unhealthy to hold it in. If you must fart, you must fart in your cubicle. I have no shame :p

at my current temp job, there is a lady who cleans the restrooms who tries to talk to me whenever i go in the bathroom and she's in there. Even when i'm not pooing, it makes me feel uncomfortable.Sometimes, I just have to go #2 at work. I've gotten to where if I have to go #2, I look outside the bathroom doors to make sure she isn't in there.
Another separate, but similar rant---the toilet paper at this place is like 1/2 ply. It's cheaper than single ply scott paper. Normally toilet paper doesn't bother me, but this stuff is really bad.

Women have babies and cant control themselves???
NOt even going to go there...
but sometimes, and Im not talking daily or anything, someone can be sick or have diarreah. Its gross, but as long as they attempt to make things clean etc, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm sorry, I have IBS and when I need to go, I go. I do'nt think rules of politeness exist in bathrooms like that, except for the "at least fake washng your hands if someone else is in the bathroom."
there's a woman in my office I wo'nt touch as a result of her non-hand washing.

Ummmm... as cerebral as this debate is... YOU PEOPLE ARE WEIRD (sorry, not a dis, just an interpretation...) IT's a washroom for pete's sake!!! you shit in it, you piss in it... maybe it's more accurately called (at least in the absence of a shower in it) a Bodily Function Room!!!!!!
I say... CRAP AWAY... at least if we hear you, we'll know it was relieving... it's always a joy when someone else is happy...

I have IBS, so I basically have to go the minute I feel that I have to go.
I've used some of the world's worst toilets as a result, and I've also been forced to buy shit I don't want for the honor of using, say, a 7-Eleven bathroom downtown.
Crapping is fun.

lol... my fav line is - oh, i'll buy something in a sec... kinda desperate... (and i don't usually end up buying... stupid policy if you ask me...) my other line is my 4 year old really, really has to pee - even places that say absolutely no customer washrooms will have pity on a 4 year old!
