Since alot of people have been writing about the crappy things about their job.....I thought it might be nice to look at the good things about their job. Just because sometimes its nice to think about those things!

Here are my tope 3.
1) My boss actually likes TEACHING me when I dont get something

2) I had supplies when I first got in the door (my last job I had to get my own post-its and paperclips!)

3)Im learning alot, even though it can be boring and tedious.....and my boss lets me fly with things even if I dont totally grasp what I need/should be doing with the information. He likes to give me rope to hang myself with. =)

Ok YOUR turn.

Unlimited internet access.

Flex time (I can work pretty much whenever I want, as long as every two weeks I have 75 hours put in.)

I'm learning that I DON'T want to be a librarian, but that I do enjoy research.

1. Having business cards

2. Getting experience on my resume

3. my main goal is to help my clients find jobs...so when I am looking on job search sites (for myself or clients) I can't get in trouble for doing so.

YALE my friend...it's all about Yale.

Coll and I hate our jobs but we love where we work!!!!

I also get an assortment of vacation, personal and sick time...paid holidays, Christmas break, etc. Coll gets better time off than me because she's a manager and I'm clerical, but whatever. I get free dental though...she doesn't! HA :D

Thanks jen for rubbing that in :p!!! LOL

Yale sucks you in w/ the vacation time- i also have personal days and sick time :)...that's why people stay here for 30+ years. LOL

Each dept is different about dress codes- my business mgr has said repeatedly as long as we're dressed she doesn't care what we wear!!

my job itself sucks, but there are so many different depts to choose from that i can always find something w/in the university once i'm fed up here...huh jen!!

I have 1 sick day a month (get it at the beginning of each month and they carry over from year to year), 4 personal days per year (they don't carry over), and 1 vacation day a month (they carry over). We get all sorts of holidays off and PAID too.

I can wear whatever I want...my business mgr told us the same thing Coll's did. We work in an office in the back of a library--no one sees us. I dress up most days because I like to, but if I feel like crap I can wear sweats.

We can transfer depts fairly easily...which Coll and I are going to do soon enough.

Okay, here are my top 5...

1. My coworkers are friendly, intelligent, and dedicated people.
2. I get to research legislation and current events.
3. I can wear whatever I want!!!
4. The office is located downtown, near a lot of cute cafes to go
to for lunch and a lot of hoppin' bars to visit after work.
5. I have free internet access and nobody cares what I do with it.

:p

Oh, and I just remembered. My new health care coverage lets me go back to my old family doctor. At my old job it didn't...
