My boyfriend's best friend has been increasingly flirtatious the past couple of times we hung out. At first, it felt "safe" to flirt because he's much older, talks lovingly about his wife, and knows that my boyfriend and I are pretty serious. In fact, he's openly compliments my appearance even when my boyfriend is around.
The past two times we went out, however, this guy has acted kind of suspciously. (1) Last time, he asked me whether the people I live with know that I'm going out w/ him to a specified location "in case we're in a car accident". He goes on to explain that he tells his wife where he's going in case of emergency. (2) The time before that, he asked whether I tell my boyfriend "everything" and, when I said yes, he told me that honesty is not always the best policy and that sometimes there is no need to reveal the details. (3) After hanging out weekend, he called me to tell me that he really enjoyed spending time w/ me. It not like it was a date!
He hasn't make any overt moves, but my experience tells me that if single people are in this situtation, the next date would be an attempt to get physical. (Or maybe I'm just conceitedly jumping the gun.)
I like hanging out w/ this guy and try to get my boyfriend to come along and have suggested double-dates to the guy, but geographic distances and time restraints make group outings difficult. I want to keep everything as it is now: me w/ my boyfriend, him and his wife, and all 4 of us are just good friends.
What should I do?
