I know that city has been growing very fast in the past few years, but I think it would be a good city to live in. I could probably get a job in the north eastern part (use Google Earth to see why).

There is a lot of stuff to do in the area, and the weather is pretty good. It looks like a fun place to live.

I've been living here in Vegas for two years now. It is almost impossible to get a decent job. Its not about your cresidentials, its about who you know. The housing market is outrageous. The median house price is now $290K. How can you afford that when you make $30K?

I was going to say something about the house prices. I might just buy some land and build a house.

I am a little concerned with the job thing. I am in a better positon now than wher I was in Phoenix to get a job. But, I would expect the job market to be similar.

Maybe I start my Nevada business that I hear so much about on the radio. :)

I have lived in Las Vegas for close to a year now. I transferred out here with my company so I had the job lined up before I moved. I'm not an expert on the job market, but I know they are always looking for teachers and nurses and the construction market is really booming.

I rent a house (with a roommate) and it is fairly inexpensive. Buying is another story. Home prices have gone up drastically in the last couple years. And as far as buying land I honestly think you would have to go pretty far away from Las Vegas to find any land to buy. Most undeveloped land is being being bought up by developers for big bucks or else it is just government owned land.

Las Vegas is a great place to live as long as you can get through the hot summer months. You'll also never have to go on trips to see family and friends because they will all come to you!

lvlaura, its good that you already had a job in line before you moved here. I've had a pretty tough time finding a decent job. I'm close to my MBA degree and I still don't have any jobs lined up. I will probably end up relocating.
