This is a total tangent from another thread where someone mentioned pilates. I've been thinking of trying it at my gym. What are people's experiences with pilates classes? Good or bad... :D

Personally, I think Pilates is a really great workout. Its one of those things where you can actually feel it working, which always helps you to stay motivated, I think! Sometimes, depending on the instructor it can be a little tough at first, but usually its easy to modify the moves for beginners. Overall, I think its a great way to stay/become more toned. Which is always a good thing, right? :)
If you try it let us know how you like it!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll try a class at my gym sometime... What's a Reformer?

A Reformer is the machine that Pilates instructors & students train on. It's a tougher alternative than just using your body's own resistance. If you've been working out for a while, I would suggest taking a class that utilizes the reformer and other equipment -- beginners & intermediates can go without using the equipment, but if you're looking for workout variety, you'll need to use more equipment to keep your Pilates workout on par with the rest of your workout week. Here's a link for one...

Thanks, MetFan! I checked out the site, and I don't think my gym has the machines. At least, I've never seen them every time I've peeked into the pilates room. Guess the only way to know for sure is to go the class...
