Does anyone else feel frustrated/depressed while on MySpace? I just deleted my account; it was becoming a 24-hour high school reunion and a constant display of every failed relationship since middle school.

I get depressed at the amount of sluts and meat-heads on there.
However, I don't really browse the people there. I enjoy myspace for other reasons ;)

I had an account there but I deleted it after about a week. I didn't even like any of the attention that I was getting on there. Plus, this really old guy, who looked like he was 25 years older than me hit on me and I told him that I wasn't interested in him so he really cussed me out.

I don't even respond to messages with randoms hitting on me. I delete them and ignore.

Me too, but after awhile they are pretty entertaining to show your friends.
Yea I use it to keep in touch with friends. It's a great thing to play on when you're bored at work or feel like procrastinating :)

Yes. Maybe it's the wrong attitude, but that's why I don't like networking sites. I only have one at myfacebook, and I visit that site once every month, if even. If I want to keep up with my friends, I email them or call them up directly. People I don't keep in touch with...are probably not even good friends to begin with.
I also want to move my time away from online activities, so it wouldn't help me if I have an account (I would probably check it obsessively)

Yeah. It started out that way. As my friend list became larger, though, it just got to be rediculous.

You know, myspace is a funny little thing. I was on it for few months, deleted, and then crawled back into it, and then deleted again. lol. And now I wanna join it again. It's totally an addiction... I joined it because I wanted to stay connected to few good friends...but then why can't we just call our friends when we're bored rather than posting it online?

I find messageboards way more addicting than stuff like myspace, somehow.

Well put! I joined myspace to keep up with some old friends and then deleted it after a week. I started to think that if I only felt comfortable communicating with these people though myspace rather than e-mail, IM or phone...then are they really my friends? To quote one of my friends... "myspace is more of a way to validate yourself to others by amassing "friends" " - at first I was like huhh... but then this occurred to me when I searched for people who I went to h.s. with and realized that a lot of their "friends" are people they hated back when/still hate today. I really don't get myspace. Thats just two cents though :)

Yeah, I have an account on there. It does seem kinda depressing sometimes. But maybe that's cuz I don't have millions of "friends" on there.
I haven't deleted my profile. I've erased everything from it though (twice). It would be a good way to keep in touch with friends, because I feel like we're drifting apart since I graduated college. But I don't really have that many close friends and if they were good friends, we'd just call each other or something to keep in touch anyway.
But I am tempted to put something back up on my profile on myspace just as a way to help me meet new people (hopefully no creeps though).
