Hi everyone, I just relocated to LA for a promotion that I received. The promotion was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up, but it did require me to move cross country. I am enjoying the weather in LA and I am excited about the opportunities that I know await me, but I have just realized that it is going to be harder than I realized. I have always been a very independant person and met friends easily. Well, I am not having such an easy time and find myself questioning myself alot..........something I never did before. I am 24, very social and had a large base of friends and family back home. I have been in LA for going on 3 months and I have yet to find any type of friend base where we can go out and party, to the movies, dinner, shop....whatever. I feel really odd writing to a job board like this because I have never needed to do so, but I have never felt so lonely either. I am not used to being so isolated and I am starting to feel more and more homesick. I definitely want to give LA a fair chance..1. because my job is great and 2. the weather is great. I am trying to stay very positive, but staying home on a Saturday night is not for me! The people at work are nice, but mainly older and settled and I am not religious so going to a church group is not for me. It might sound weak or whatever, but I don't want to go places alone. I am a social person and like to be around people!! So I hope to find new girlfriends or guy friends. Besides volunteering does anyone have any suggestions on meeting new friends or are looking for one????????? Sounds like a bad personal ad, but here is my profile:

I live in LA as well and would tend to agree with what you said. Its a big, lonely place with great weather. I have a group of female friends that get together at a club called FIRECRACKER in CHINATOWN, private message me and come along! :)
cheers! JKU
