How do you deal with non-related jobs to your career in your resume? I listed my resume with them, but just gave position, company and date, with nothing else listed.

Just want to get some sort of consensus here.

It depends on how much other experience you have and the type of job you're looking for. Before I had supervisory experience at my current job, I kept jobs on there where I did some supervisory stuff just to show that I was capable/had the experience. Also, when I was trying to branch out into different fields, I kept jobs on there that were similar.

I did the same thing too. I also added some volunteer work (even though it didn't relate to the field) because I didn't have much work experience.

I make everything relate.

I have so such option, as leaving those jobs out would create a gap.

What's the reason for leaving them out?

Basically, they were retail, restaurant and clerical positions that look totally out of place in my IT-based resume, totally unrelated to IT, but I included them (without job duties) to leave very minimal gaps.

I'm hopefully moving from one type of field to another unrelated one, but there are definitely attributes/duties that translate to both. So even though the jobs are unrelated, the skills, etc. obtained in one translate well to the next.
