I am in desperate need of a job! I have been looking for 8 months now and can't find anything worth interviewing for. I have a college education and work experience and much to my dismay I can't get a job. What is wrong with this world when educated people can't find work. I am now living at home with my parents because I can't afford anything else. I am truely experiencing the quarterlife crisis now that I am 25 years old. This past 8 months has been a nightmare and I just need help. I have read the book, but that doesn't seem to be getting me a job! If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them! Thanks and best of luck to you all.

To Gamecocks, I am 25 and in a similiar situation but recently I have been doing some things different that have helped and at least have given me more knowledge and confidance in the "job world." I made a list of 25 companies in town that I wanted to work for and started contacting these companies, most of them not related to my major, and have begun a series of informational interviews. Most people have been very open to giving me 20-30 minutes of their time to tell me about their work, the specific details of the day to day operations, best and worst characteristics of the job. It is a great way to network, learn about other professions, and even get interviews. The second company I did this with, after just ten minutes of me asking questions and so forth, interviewed me later that very day. I didn't get the job, at least not yet, but I made some contacts and learned some things. Hope these ideas might useful for you!
