I'm purchasing a new mattress, and I don't know whether to get the half-height box spring or full-height.. I plan on getting a low profile frame for the bed eventually, so I don't know if I need to get a half-height box spring to go with it.. The mattress guy says they both support the mattress equally.. Anyone with a low bed comment on this please?
thanks.

If you're getting one of the new, higher mattresses (17"+) I'd suggest getting the low profile box spring. Unless you don't mind pole-vaulting into bed.

I got the lower one b/c it was cheaper. And that's how I roll.

definitely the half-height box spring if you are planning on the low profile bed soon. my good friends just bought a low profile and their old mattress and boxspring set sit too high on it...it looks 'off' and what's worse is their toddler is always climbing on and off their bed, so the mattress tends to slide. it makes the dad/husband nuts.

i inversted sopme money in a matteress and box spring, but i was shocked at how high it was, and it took a bit to get used to. as long as the box is solding a low profile one should work fine. do you have the option of returning/exchanging it if you don't like it.

Thanks guys, I went the the half-height box spring.
Unfortunately you can't exchange the box spring, but you can exchange mattress up to 60 days.. weird, but whatever.
