As most of you know, I am applying to grad school to get my Masters of Business Education. Recently, I met with the program coordinator at the school, who set me up to take two graduate classes in the fall as a non-matriculated student. I also have to take two prerequisite courses at my local community college - just two classes I did not take as an undergrad, but need for the Masters degree.

I was planning to tackle all four classes at once, but the school where the grad classes are located is far away, and I would also be working full time. After speaking to many of you on here, I decided to wait on the grad classes until I start full time in the spring, but take the two community college classes in the fall.

I can figure out how to drop the classes, but should I even tell the program coordinator that I am not taking them? He and I speak frequently, so that I know I am scheduling the right entrance exams, courses, etc. He is part of the decision making process when my application is reviewed. Will he view this as a sign of weakness, if I choose not to take the two grad classes?

Also - can anyone tell me - what is an average GRE score? I am taking them on the 29th and have been studying my butt off, but I can't seem to figure out if I am doing ok or not!

Just be honest with him. Tell him with the travel, as well as financial piece, you can't swing it right now. Also let him know you do have to work F/T so think you can only devote your time to the 2 pre-req. classes. I didn't have to take the GRE's for my graduate degree so I can't help you out there. You can let him know that in the spring, you will be ready to totally dive in and devote your focus to F/T graduate work.

As far as the program coordinator goes, I agree with winney.

With respect to the GRE, here are the mean scores for individuals that tooks them between 2001 and 2004:

Verbal: 469

Quantitative: 597

Analytical Writing: 4.2

Great news, because the last diagnostic test I took, my scores were above average! Thanks for both of your responses...I think I just needed a little reasurrance. The program coordinator said he does not forsee a problem with me getting admitted to the school, so thats good...I just hope I rock the GRE's so I don't have anything to worry about. Thanks, guys!
