OK, so I am getting reports that parts of Manhattan are now out completely. They have turned off half the power in our building, including one of the elevators. There was just an announcement in the building that everyone should go home early, as they are afraid all of Manhattan is going to go.............

be careful and good luck.

i know several folks in CT have already been told to go home as their buildings/offices shut down.

I'm not stressed. I actually usually leave between 4 & 4:30 every day anyways. It's 3:17 now. My only concern would be getting stranded in the city, like if the LIRR stopped running or something. And now I hear people in the hallways freakin' out about "terrorist activity" and such. *SIGH*..........it's all I can do.........

All i can say is NO FAIR. New Haven would have to cease to exist before this place would shut down completely :googly:

Well, I got home without the power failing. The LIRR train I was initially on went out of service at Penn so we had to board another. Despite that minor inconvenience, I can't complain. They are calling for major thunderstorms here tonight so I am hoping that will finally cool things down a bit.

Hey, winney, aren't you glad you don't live in Queens anymore?

Yes! But I am being verbally hazed and letters written about me to the state from a client of mine who lives in my old neighborhood because I moved out and didn't prevent the power from going out in her building  .
