I'm at certain point of my life where i'm starting to find out who i'm, and define me as an individual. It has been a struggle to find myself and who i am as an individual.

I'm wondering if any of you struggle to find yourself and define yourself as an individual?

I found this poem from inspirational peak website: that somes up the struggle

Everybody Knows:
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

So:
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.

Then:
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.

Dare To Believe:
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

I believe that we all struggle to define ourselves as individuals and these definitions change as we do, thus we must constantly adjust. The star basketball player in high school isn't the necessarily the star in college. In my case, I'm no longer the smartest kid in the class. Thus, we redefine ourselves slightly.

On a lighter note,
I am actually much more comfortable in other people's skin

its weird because you see yourself one way and others may see you completely differently. let's not even get into being labeled.
However i like to think that its what you think that matters but that's easier said then done.

I have thought a lot in the last couple of years about who I am. I have come to several conclusions and I still have several questions left unanswered. For me, the biggest thing is, whenever I am pondering some aspect of myself, I always include the question, "Is this how I really feel/believe/think or is this something someone has told me to believe?" If the answer is it came from someone/somewhere else, then I spend a lot of time determining what is true for me. The more I do that the more congruent I feel in my life, and comfortable I feel in my own skin.
