I went to one before I graduated with my Master's. I had a couple of places call for interviews. Granted, no place called that really matched my experience or salary requirments though. I think they can be hit or miss. The one I had attended, I had found were geared to people without a whole lot of working experience looking for entry-level-foot-in-the-door type stuff. This one was also held at a prestigious university and I found it was just too packed and chaotic to really be able to talk to any of the agency reps. Maybe if it wasn't for that factor alone, I would have had better luck........

i got an interview or two from college job fairs, but nothing panned out. i think it really depends on who the job fair is targeted to and whether you're a part of that target. for example, one of the job fairs i attended in school was geared mainly toward business majors, and since my major was in no way related, i couldn't find as many opportunities.

on the other side of things...the organization i work for has attended a few job fairs, and i know they do review the resumes and see if anyone is a good match for open position, so there is some followup. however, i have yet to see if anyone has been hired through this process...but they keep doing them so at some point they must assume they will find more people this way.

the best thing though is to make sure you're set with resumes, have a 30 to 1 minute little blurb about yourself that you can tailor when you introduce yourself to employers. in advance of the fair, see what employeers will be there and narrow down to the ones you're interested in working for or who have openings that might correspond with your interests/experience. if you've got all that you should have nothing to worry about :)
